“This collaborative shows the optimism in the housing market in Southeastern Massachusetts,” says Michael Rabideau, publisher of South Shore Living magazine.
The Idea Home which will feature ideas for building, design and décor that fit a busy family’s lifestyle is the brainchild of DeWitt Davenport, CEO of The Davenport Companies. “We have been developing the neighborhood at Kingsbury Hollow, a conservation community in Carver, MA, for a couple years. The first phase has been completed and with the optimism in the building industry we knew it was the right time to break ground on Phase II. But we wanted to do something unique and have an opportunity for the community to see what we were building.” That idea led to the collaboration between The Davenport Companies and South Shore Living magazine. “Davenport is directing and
managing the project and we are excited to document the process for our readers and web visitors,” says Liz Rabideau, associate publisher of South Shore Living magazine.
The Davenport Building Company and South Shore Living magazine have reached out to local companies to be involved in this exciting project. Mid-Cape Home Centers, Shepley Wood Products and Glynn Electric have all come on board to help achieve the vision of a home incorporating the newest building materials and designs that modern families look for in a home. Additional local building-related businesses and design companies will be involved as the project develops.
“Part of the fun of this project is that South Shore Living readers and visitors to our website www.southshoreideahome.com can follow the building process which will showcase innovative building materials, products, décor and the expertise of a variety of vendors and
suppliers,” says Beth Patkoske, marketing manager at The Davenport Companies.
A reveal is planned for October 2012 which will include an open house celebration open to the public.
(CARVER, MA) The grand opening of Kingsbury Hollow, a new conservation community in Carver, was celebrated today with a ribbon-cutting,
refreshments and tours of the newly built homes. Set among towering pine trees, the neighborhood features a cranberry bog, a private park
with a sweeping lawn and gazebo, sidewalked streets and manicured landscaping surrounding an eventual twenty-one ecologically-friendly
homes, five of which have been completed. The homes start at $499,000.
The development of the 43.3 acre site is a joint project between the A.D. Makepeace Company and the Davenport Companies. The grand opening
was attended by representatives from both companies as well as local officials and neighbors from surrounding homes. The ribbon was cut by
DeWitt Davenport, President and CEO of The Davenport Companies and Michael Hogan, President and CEO of A.D. Makepeace.
